1:100 NWA / KLM Alliance DC-10-30 N237NW

In 1999, Northwest painted ex-Varig DC-10-30 N237NW into a special "Alliance " paint scheme to commemorate the new Alliance between Northwest and KLM. Each side was a combination of the two paint schemes, but in reversed order side to side. The scheme did not last long, and N237NW was painted back into the standard NWA "Bowling Shoe " scheme.

Following its acquisition of National Airlines in 1980, Pan American World Airways became a Douglas DC-10 operator. The fleet included both the -10 and -30 variants, and eventually numbered 16 aircraft.

|

Lufthansa German Airlines operated a large McDonnell Douglas DC-10 fleet up until the 1990s. Prior to retirement, most aircraft (though not all) were repainted in Lufthansa's now current color scheme. Aircraft featured a white upper fuselage, light gray belly and wing engine nacelles, and dark blue tail and #2 engine.

Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Omni Air International provides charter and ACMI flights worldwide. Decal depicts the various DC10-30s operated by Omni Air International in their original all-white scheme.

Prior to their demise, ATA acquired a group of ex-Northwest DC-10s. This decal depicts the first ex-Northwest DC-10-30 to be operated by ATA in this hybrid paint scheme, NWA silver fusleage with a dark blue tail and simplified ATA markings.

Luton-based Monarch Airlines is one of the largest UK charter airlines. Monarch operated a sole DC-10-30 G-DMCA between 1996 and 2003. This DC-10 was retired and broken up in 2003 with the forward section of the fuselage surviving as an exhibit at the Aviation Viewing Park at Manchester Ringway Airport.

This one is for the colorful fleet of DC-10-30 freighters that were operated by Arrow Cargo prior to their demise, use Model Master Sublime Green for a paint match. Please note that the tail “widget” was a bit different on each DC10 operated by Arrow.

Northwest was one of the last operators of passenger DC10s, amassing a large fleet of second-hand DC-10-30s to go along with their original DC-10-40s. The decal depicts the Landor-designed "Bowling Shoe" livery worn on both types.

U.S. express carrier FedEx operates the world's largest fleet of McDonnell Douglas DC-10 and MD-11 aircraft. In total, 104 DC-10s and 74 MD-11s have served in the fleet. All of the DC-10s (DC-10-10s, DC-10-30s and MD-10 conversions) are powered by GE CF6 engines. The MD-11 fleet features aircraft with both GE and Pratt & Whitney engines. This set will allow you to model either ONE DC-10 or ONE MD11.
