In the late 1990s N1451D flew as "Saturday Night Special" with a highly polished finish.  Previously "Unruly Julie" and later becoming "Checkertail Clan", this P-51D was destroyed in a fatal accident in 2014.

23-year old Chuck Lyford flew this all-white P-51D-25 in the 1964 Harold’s Club Transcontinental Trophy Dash from St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Florida to Reno Nevada.  After leading the entire race, a serious of events at the end of the race conspired to have Chuck finish 2nd out of the eight P-51s that started the race.  The "Bardahl Special" was unique in this race as Chuck used 150 gallon Skyraider drop tanks to extend his range.  Chuck's "Bardahl Special" also pylon raced at Reno, of course without the drop tanks used in the transcon race..

While never raced, this Hellcat was owned by the colorful owner of Alaska Airlines during the early 1970s.  This decal is printed on the ALPS with beautiful true metallic gold ink.

Owned by David Maytag, this stock in appearance wet-winged Mustang raced at Reno and Las Vegas in 1965, then at Los Angeles in 1966.

Owned by the Eberhardt family,  this stock appearing Mustang has been racing at Reno since 1986,  suffering a major incident at Reno in 2006 and has been slowly working it way back to the Gold Race ever since.

R.A. "Bob" Hoover, the Pilot's Pilot, and arguably one of the best stick and rudder aviators in history, flew this stock appearing Mustang at air shows and air races for North American Aviation, later known as Rockwell International.

Owned by C.E. Crosby of Bellingham, WA,  "Mr Choppers " raced at Reno in 1964 and possibly other years.  44-74602 is now owned by Jack Hovey of Ione, CA and is painted in a sharp desert sand / spinach camo scheme.

"Lancer Two" was the first post-Cleveland Air Races Corsair to appear as a racer.  US Forestry Service pilot Eugene Akers flew this virtually stock F4U-4 Corsair, and was a stunning site to see.  Use Model Master Teal or Boyd Chezoom Teal for the paint match.

Tragedy struck this P-39Q and its pilot Jack Woolams prior to the 1946 Thompson Trophy race, thus enabling sistership Cobra II raced by Tex Johnson to win the race uncontested by Cobra I.  This virtually stock in appearance P-39Q was bright red with black trim.
