In 2007, FedEx announced its decision to begin replacing its aging Boeing 727 freighter fleet with second-hand Boeing 757's.  Current plans are for 90 aircraft to be acquired.  The first aircraft to complete the conversion process and be delivered in full FedEx colors is N901FD.  The aircraft wears the standard FedEx color scheme featuring a white fuselage and purple tail.  FedEx operates both Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney powered versions of the 757 "Sexy Jet."

Boeing's desperate efforts to prolong the life of the C-17A Globemaster III production line finally yielded fruit when three airlines ordered the civilian version of the cargo aircraft, the BC-17A.  The real surprise of the bunch was FedEx.  The BC-17A order was the culmination of FedEx's efforts to move into the outsized and heavy freight market.  Aircraft are being delivered in the current FedEx colors, featuring a white fuselage, winglets and engine nacelles, with a purple rear fuselage and vertical stabilizer.

In December 2011, express shipping giant FedEx placed an order for 27 new-build 767-300F freighters.  The aircraft will replace the company‚Äôs MD-10 aircraft.  The first aircraft, N101FE (Hannah) was delivered in September 2013.

U.S. express carrier FedEx has operated a large fleet of converted Airbus A300-600 freighters (over 70 different aircraft at one time or another).  FedEx operates 42 factory-built freighter -605Fs with GE CF6 engines (N650FE-N692FE - 666 is skipped), as well as 29 converted -605 and -622 aircraft with both GE CF6 and P&W 4000 engines.  As with the venerable Boeing 727, FedEx took delivery of the final A300 built - N692FE.

U.S. express carrier FedEx operates the world's largest fleet of McDonnell Douglas DC-10 and MD-11 aircraft.  In total, 104 DC-10s and 74 MD-11s have served in the fleet.  All of the DC-10s (DC-10-10s, DC-10-30s and MD-10 conversions) are powered by GE CF6 engines.  The MD-11 fleet features aircraft with both GE and Pratt & Whitney engines.  This set will allow you to model either ONE DC-10 or ONE MD11.

U.S. express carrier FedEx Express began replacing its aging Fokker F-27s in 2003 with ATR aircraft.  The initial batch consisted of ATR-42s from Continental Express, though the fleet has grown to include the larger ATR-72 as well.  The aircraft are operated by Mountain Air Cargo and Empire Airlines in the US, Morningstar Air Cargo in Canada, Swiftair Cargo in Spain, and Air Contractors, based in Dublin, Ireland.  This decal provides the markings to model any ONE aircraft in the fleet.
