In 2006, US Airways painted four Airbus A319 aircraft in  "Retro " paint schemes of some of the airlines that were merged into the airline through the years.  This decal provides the original markings for N744P, which proudly wears the colors of Piedmont Airlines.  The aircraft was initially painted with a shade of blue that was too light.  Many former Piedmont employees at the airline complained about this color, and a couple other details, which prompted the airline to repaint the aircraft.  This decal provides the markings for the original version of this livery.  Use this set with the RetroWings A319 conversion.  For the later and current version, see set 20s-A3N-38L

In 2006, US Airways painted four Airbus A319 aircraft in  "Retro " paint schemes of some of the airlines that were merged into the airline through the years.  One of these aircraft, N744P, proudly wears the colors of Piedmont Airlines.  The aircraft was initially painted with a shade of blue that was too light, which many former Piedmont employees complained about. The aircraft was repainted with the proper shade of blue.  Several other tweaks were made at that time, including red titles and the addition of the tail A319 title band.    Use this set with the RetroWings A319 conversion.  For the earlier version, see set 20s-A3N-38E.  This aircraft now flies with American titles which have been added to our decal.

Prior to the final merging of Piedmont Airlines with USAir in 1989, a few aircraft were painted in a bare metal transition scheme.  For the 767-201ER fleet, there was a red variation and a blue one.  This decal provides the markings for the blue scheme on the 767.

As Piedmont continued to do well in the years following its successful fending off of a takeoff attempt by USAir, Piedmont Airlines expanded its international network.  To renew its fleet, the airline placed an initial order for 6 Rolls-Royce powered Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
