1:200 USAir / British Airways "Landor" 767-200s

In 1993, British Airways entered into a strategic alliance with USAir. British Airways bought into USAir with a large stock purchase. In addition to code sharing, USAir handed over the rights to its Charlotte-London Gatwick route (the company's first TransAtlantic route, inherited from Piedmont). USAir continued to operate the flights with GE-powered 767-200s, three of which were painted in British Airways' Landor paint scheme. The happy marriage did not last long. Under new management, USAir challenged its relationship with BA in court in 1996, and the two severed ties in 1997.

British Airways was created by the merger of BOAC and British European Airways in 1973. A new livery was created by Negus and Negus which was used until the scheme designed Landor and Associates replaced it in 1984. During this period the British Airways titles were shortened to just “British.” Our decal includes both title variations, and also includes all sixteen registrations and corresponding ship names, with all white markings double-struck to ensure opacity.

1:200 British Airways "Union Flag" 747-400s

British Airways is a long time Boeing 747 operator, and at one point operated 57 747-400s. The 747-400’s are slowly being phased out and replaced by the 777-300ER and A380, but many will soldier on for many more years. This set depicts the current “Union Flag” scheme first unveiled along with the “Utopia” tails British Airways unveiled in the late 1990s. The other utopia schemes are long gone and this scheme remains the standard for the BA fleet.
